Teachers at St. Stephen's facilitate learning by helping their pupils to access information, encourage creative ideas, help in solving problems and inculcate a spirit of acceptance towards all.

They demonstrate a strong grasp of subject matter, act as facilitators to enable learning processes. Plan and implement a programme of instruction that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals and objectives. They make purposeful and effective lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies. Use effective oral and written expressions.

They create a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.

They develop, in accordance with school guidelines, stipulated rules of classroom behaviour. Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. They share responsibility for supervision of students in all areas of the school.
